TBF001 – Introductions & WIIFM (What’s in it for me [and you])

  • SumoMe

I’m very excited to present the first episode of the Training By Fire podcast!

This episode give a brief introduction to two things, my podcast and I, and “What’s in it for me.”

I’m a guy who’s passionate about training and development and have been since university.  I’ve been working in the service industry since I was 12 and I also love podcasting!  It all makes sense.

WIIFM

Things we covered briefly in the podcast were:

present a WIIFM statement early on and it helps to follow the 3 rules of writing: clear, concise, and coherent.

Make it relavent to the learners, hopefully from a needs assessment but otherwise you’ll have to be an ambassador for them and bridge the gap otherwise you risk losing them.  Learners have a choice where they go for content and by showing them what you can provide them with, you also ensure that there is something in it for you.

I hope to return to this topic in a full format episode.  This was a short and sweet but I was so excited to get the 1st episode out there!

Thanks for taking the time to listen!
